I work for a very prestigious bank in India. I got this job using the law of attraction. It’s all a miracle, God’s grace, whatever you want to call it.

I joined at the junior level and slowly I got the opportunity to elevate my position. I worked hard and again, by God’s grace, I got two promotions that I never imagined I would get.

Here comes another twist in the story. I thought I would easily get my third promotion, as per our bank’s policy was that everyone who completes a certain number of years in that grade will get it. However, as time passed, the management made it very difficult to achieve. People started to butter up their bosses as it became very competitive to get that promotion. The sad thing was that nothing was in your control as there is no exam or interview, only your marks on your performance appraisal which was very biased as there was no transparency. I had seen that many eligible candidates were not getting promotions because their average was below the required marks. It was a forced ranking. Everybody in the organization opposed the system and wanted changes, however, management was very adamant to not make any changes. It is demotivating the people in the organization.

Finally, this year it was my turn to get that promotion. I was very scared at first as my marks were not sufficient as per past history. However, I kept myself positive, always affirming that whatever marks I got would be sufficient for getting that promotion. I always prayed and thanked God for his grace as if I had already received the promotion. I visualized myself on the list of eligible candidates declared on our website, and how my colleagues and friends would start to congratulate me. I imagined how I told this good news to my dad and my sister.

Then finally my name was declared on that list of eligible candidates! Thank you, God, for your grace!
