Like many others out there, I have been living my life in an absolute emotional turmoil, with a tornado of problems sweeping me from every direction.

It was just the same as being caught up in a game of snakes and ladders, in which I never reach box 100 to win the game. Each time I painfully get up, move around the board of life, get caught up with negativity, swallowed by the huge snake (problems), and whirl all the way down to box 1.

Even worse, I felt like being in the middle of the most complicated maze of life, hitting dead ends all the time, and every time that happened, I fell into a deep black pit ending up in the middle of the maze again! And again! AND AGAIN!

When this happens, I settle myself in my dream realm, in which I get to live the way I want, doing whatever I want for a change and not being a pushed-around puppet. But deep down I had made a major mistake in convincing myself that those were dreams, and that they cannot manifest in my life.

Then one day I got really tired of all this nonsense and was ready to burst out. That was when my mom’s friend introduced me to The Secret book. She lent me two books at that time, but she insisted that I read The Secret book first. At first glance, honestly I wasn’t interested, because I was looking forward to read the other book. But out of respect, I’d thought maybe I should give it a try.

At page three, I was completely hooked like I was never hooked on any other books. This is saying something as I am a terrible bookworm. Normal times, I do skip meals and TV programs to finish any book I’m reading. But in this case, I literally refused to do anything till I finished this one!

At the end of it, I was in tears of gratitude. I stared and stared at my hands and thought how powerful I actually am, and how foolishly I had let situations and people, as well as environment, influence me so easily. Rubbing my hands together I thought at that time of what I needed most.

Firstly I decided to manifest a book about self-help, but humour-based. And I did! What made it so interesting is the fact that I said to the Universe to show me signs of how I should feel. On my way to the bookstore there was this really huge poster on which was written: “HAPPY”

Pleasantly surprised, I continued to ask for confirmation. Believe it or not, three salesgirls gave me three different coloured papers on which was written ‘happy’, with a big smile on their faces! I made my way inside and looked for the bookstore. And guess what? I saw a trolley prarked at the side of the bookstore and on it was written, “Make way, a happy person coming through.”

A few people who were obstructing my way immediately gave way, and I felt so happy! Inside the bookstore after some searching, I accidentally touched the book I was looking for. I wouldn’t have given it a second thought because the book was a second-hand book and did not look at all like a self-help book. But the zap feeling I got once I held it, immediately caught my attention, and indeed I found the book I was looking for!

Next, I proceeded to ask a brand new laptop for free. Took me quite a while to get rid of the “how” thoughts, because I really couldn’t see anyone who would want to give away a brand new laptop for free. But the Law of Attraction only recognised my dominant thoughts, and in a few months my cousin gave me his laptop for free! He just told me to keep it. I was dumbstruck, but inside I was like a fully-charged battery ready to move on for the better things in my life.
