I was in a job that I wanted to progress in and it wasn’t happening. My ex-boyfriend just got engaged to his new girlfriend. I was in a chapter of my life where I was wondering when my time of joy was going to come.

I read The Secret and realized that I have to believe in what I wanted and to believe that I already had it. I decided that I was going to enter Miss Great Britain, the biggest, most prestigious pageant in the UK. I had never competed in a pageant before and had no idea where to start.

I created a vision board of me winning and printed off 10 pages! I stuck 3 in my bathroom. One I could look at whilst I was in the shower, one I could look at whilst brushing my teeth, even one I could look at whilst I was on the loo, haha! I posted them all around my cottage! Everywhere! In the hallway, on my bedroom mirror, above my cooker, and above my sink on the window, basically anywhere I could look.

On the vision board, I typed, “And the winner is (my name!)”. I imagined myself standing in my dress, holding hands with another girl in the top two, on the stage, and them announcing my name as the winner. I envisioned this in my mind and cried with happiness as if it was actually happening each and every time I would imagine it.

I worked so hard. I studied pageants like it was an exam. I did everything I knew I could do to prepare. The competition came around and I felt like I had already won. I kept saying in my mind, I can’t wait to win. I can’t wait to win. Whenever I  would practice my walk on stage I would listen to the song “And They’re All Looking At You”.

Guess what? That song came on when I walked on stage!! I knew this was the Universe working!! I got into the top 16, then the top 5, then I could not believe it when I was in the top two! I was standing holding hands with another girl, in my dress, just how I had imagined it in my mind!!!! I couldn’t believe exactly what I had imagined was happening!!! Then my name was announced! I was the new Miss Great Britain!

Beyond thankful! Your dreams really can come true, whatever it is you want. Really, truly believe that it is already yours and let the Universe make it happen for you.
