Big love to the Universe and also to everyone reading this experience. I’m writing this story with immense gratitude to the Universe for helping me manifest my desire to travel to the USA to attend an academic conference.

I’m a final year Ph.D. student from the UK and I had already used all of my travel grants during my Ph.D. years to travel around for conferences. This year my paper was again selected for the prestigious Academy of Management Conference that was going to be conducted in Boston. As I ran out of the travel grant, I was in a dilemma about whether or not to attend the conference. This is such an esteemed conference in my field and I couldn’t give up on it. I was also reluctant to ask my school for travel grants as I had submitted my thesis and therefore, I might not be eligible for any grants.

It was around the same time that I read The Secret book and watched the movie as well. I could easily relate to the concept, “You attract the things you visualize and believe in”. I have attracted both good and bad in the past, unknowingly, due to my thoughts and visualizations. I started believing in the book more as it somehow calmed me down knowing that I would be finding a way to attend the conference.

While the conference registration date was nearing, I told the Universe that I want either a free air ticket or a travel grant to be able to at least book my flights to the US. After asking for it, I really let go of it and never thought about it for almost a month. As the conference was due to be conducted in August, I started having more thoughts on it in the first week of July. Even when I occasionally thought about whether or not I would be able to go, I immediately battled against my negative thoughts by turning them into positive and exciting ones. For example, I started visualizing what I would be wearing on the day of my presentation and where I would be going after I finish my presentation. I even made my PPT a month before I knew whether or not I would be going. I even booked my hostel stay in advance and trusted that I would definitely be going. Such thoughts brought more happiness to me and I often thanked the Universe with a lot of gratitude.

Today, was four days short of the early registration date for the conference. I started to think that the flight rates were soon going to go up. Suddenly a thought flashed in my mind to see if it was possible to redeem my Jet Privilege miles from Jet Airways that I have been accumulating in the last few years. I have been a loyal member of Jet Airways since 2008. I almost had close to 125,000 JP miles accumulated in my account. I tried to redeem these miles for a free ticket to India last month, and though I now see how fortunate I’m now for that, I couldn’t do it at the time due to some technical issues on their website. As the airline had shut down its services now, I had thought those miles might go to the bin if the technical issues were not addressed. Something in me said I should try one more time to see if it had been resolved.

When I checked online, I was fortunate to find the technical issues were resolved and I was able to redeem all of my miles for a free ticket with British Airways! I have just finished booking my flight tickets and when I saw the time on my phone it was 1:11 AM. I happily broke down in tears and was on my knees thanking the Almighty and the Universe for finding a way for me.
