Training money
Submitted by: Mike
Savannah, GAThere was training I needed to take to get a new job I really wanted, but between the plane ticket and the course it was going to cost about $1750.00. I’m not scraping by, but I didn’t have that kind of money to pay for training, and I only had a couple of months to come up with it. I figured I could probably get half of it from my regular paychecks. I went ahead and signed up. I knew I would get it somehow.
In my mind I put myself at the training at least once a day for about a month and a half (give or take a couple of weeks. Wasn’t keeping track). I didn’t give much attention to where or how I was going to get the money.
I got the $450.00 plane ticket as a birthday present, and the very next day I received two checks from my insurance company. They added up to almost $800.00. The letter with the checks said that it was from overcharging me for the past eight years, including interest. It was only like three dollars a month they were overcharging me. The checks and the ticket came in less than two months from the training. What are the odds. I also got another $600.00 from other sources, not quite as unexpected as the above, but still very cool. I had to take very little money out of my pocket to pay for the entire trip. Good Stuff.
