Respect Your Elders.

Haines, AlaskaI’m almost 22 years or age, I was born and raised in Alaska. I am Tlingit Alaskan, French Canadian and Scottish. I’ve been involved in sports my whole life. I had a rough upbringing and went through a very abusive childhood. Not without saying that I was adopted into an awesome, caring family and was able to finish my education and start post-secondary schooling. The moment I stopped looking to point out all the bad, nothing but good came my way.
A year ago I was a homeless drug addict with no drive to better myself in anyway. That was because I kept tearing myself apart focusing on events that happened over a decade ago. A big requirement for The Secret to completely work, is that you need to find inner peace and learn to forgive and let go. You have to do this before you can be helpful to anyone else trying to figure out The Secret, or just learning how to apply it.
I never thought that I would be able to go to college. But then even when I didn’t have a place to live or money to pay for it, thinking about it every day gave me that drive where I could of taken a full weeks worth of classes and managed them all! I ended up enrolling into a carpentry program and I have gained so much confidence, pride, self respect, happiness and self preservation since attending college.
There was an elder that showed me this video of The Secret when I was bringing nothing but bad vibes around. I was really mad at first because I could not accept that I was actually the problem, that my choices and thinking patterns lead me to my current situation. Eventually I figured, if I was able to make that much time for drugs and bad people, why the heck wasn’t I doing the same thing for money and success? I went from making $250 a week working full time scrubbing toilets, to making a couple of thousand dollars per paycheck on a good week.
People have noticed the strides I have been taking in the right direction and it feels good. There is nothing but good things in my future and The Secret should be renamed to ‘the common sense’. You will never think about things as you do now until you learn about doing it a different way. Thank you for the tools for a better life.
