Be Careful What You Wish For.

United StatesI am from Indiana born and raised, college graduate, worked 30 years and now a part-time Montessori school teacher. I have 3 grown boys, married for 39 years with 3 grandchildren.
I first heard about The Secret on May 1, 2007. I read the book thoroughly and I thought it incredible so I tested the waters by asking to see the year 2007 on something unusual, not an ordinary calendar or typical place or item. I then continued with my work day. It was my ritual at lunchtime to sit at the small conference table and meditate and daydream daily about what I’d hope for in my life. It was that same day that I finished lunch and walked out past the big conference room. In passing, I happen to glance into the big conference room and noticed in the middle of the huge cleared conference table, right smack in the middle was what appeared to be something fluorescent. As I approached the table I saw that it was a pen, so I picked up the pen and on the pen was printed in big bold numbers, 2007!! I gasped.
It was then that I went back to my desk and could not get out of my mind what had just happened. So I thought about my daily meditation and that it would be super nice if after 30 years of working, I could get laid off, collect unemployment and bank it all, so that down the road we could use the funds to flip homes.
Three months later on August 10th, 2007 I was called into the directors office and was told that due to funding, several of the staff would be laid off!! Again I gasped and didn’t hear anymore of what was said because I knew without a doubt that The Secret was most definitely real!
And so I did collect unemployment for 2 years and saved it all. Unfortunately, my son got laid off for 2 years and needed all that I had saved to keep him afloat. So my advise is to really be careful what you wish for. Think clearly about what it is that you really, really want .
