Exactly one day ago prior to posting this story, I was driving to work from my home city. I work at a power plant which is located 3 hours drive from my home city and I stayed there in an accommodation during the weekdays. On weekends, I travel back to my home city and stay with my family. Since this was going to be a long drive, I downloaded The Secret audiobook and started listening while driving. I am a strong believer of science and I base all of my reasoning on science. Therefore, I did not believe it when the audiobook was telling me that your thoughts would trigger frequencies and based on the frequencies, you would get that matching frequency from the “Universe”. I even started laughing when I was listening to the story of the guy who had a thought of a particular and distinct design of a feather and five days later he found the same exact feather with the same exact design he imagined.

So I decided during this week I would put The Secret to test just for the fun of it and to prove it was complete BS. The week before my arrival to work, it was announced that VVIP and royal presidential people are arriving at the power plant and only a few  employees will be invited to the guest list and take a photo with them. Getting myself on the guest list and meeting the VVIP was more than impossible for 3 main reasons:

1- As a criteria for selection, only a single employee should be selected from each team. We had like 15 teams and in each team there were 30 employees so the probability for me being selected was very low.

2- As a criteria for selection, the selected employee should be at least in a ‘Senior’ job position. I was not even close to a senior position.

3- There were other ‘Senior’ employees who were not even selected in the first place. So on what basis would I be selected?

Hence I decided to act as if I had already received the invitation and got all excited and had that good feeling within me, as explained in The Secret. I kept on believing and acting as if I was invited and kept on asking myself “What kind of conversation am I going to have with the VVIP?” Or “What questions should I ask them?”

A thought suddenly, came up in my mind saying “You are not even invited, get invited first! Then ask these questions”. I immediately took that though off my mind and kept on believing. I got myself excited again and brought up that good feeling.

Soon, the people who were actually on the guest list received a call and they were told to attend a rehearsal for tomorrow’s photo shoot. Obviously I did not receive a phone call for the rehearsal and another thought popped up telling me “I can’t believe I wasted my time listening to this BS audiobook” but I did not let that thought take over. I said to myself “You do not need to know how you will get invited. It is the Universe that will do all the work, you just need to believe”.

As time passed, the individuals who went to the rehearsal had returned and they were given certain uniforms to wear for tomorrow. Once again, because I did not receive any uniform, I told to myself “Man, lets cut the crap, this is all a fantasy…leaving the work to be done by the Universe…”. But I still did not give up and kept that good feeling and excitement that I was.  going to meet the VVIPs. At a certain point I said to myself “This is so stupid. I am not invited and this is the reality of it. The guest list is approved and sent off and that is the end!”. However, I still did not give up. I had a mission to accomplish and to prove that what I had listened to in the audiobook was complete BS. So, I needed to be fair and said to myself that I will wait for the last minute, then I can make that judgement.

As I was wrapping up to end my day in the office and go back to my accommodation, my phone rang. The conversation was as follows:

Me: Hello..

Guy: Hi Iqiddes. (Please note this is not my real name.)

Me: Yes, speaking.

Guy: I have put your name on the guest list because there is still space for 1 more individual.

Me: How come? I did not even do the rehearsal.

Guy: Don’t worry about the rehearsal, there is nothing important you need to know.

Me: Who put my name in the list??!!

Guy: You don’t need to concern yourself with that. What size do you wear for the uniform?

Me: Large.

Guy: Okay I will pass by your office early morning just before the arrival of the VVIPs to give you the uniform that you need to wear.

I was shocked! I mean, this was really impossible! Every time VVIPs  visit our power plant, I never, ever get invited to be on the guest list. I was at a lost for words. Damn, this is some voodoo black magic stuff!!
