I am a music teacher In public school and I am also a jazz guitarist. And, I am also a person of moderate means. As a schoolteacher in one of the lower paying districts I didn’t have a huge income and I have two boys who I pay child support for. I heard about The Secret and watched it on Netflix. Then I downloaded the audiobook on iTunes. I think one of the biggest things for me was saying thank you every morning and carrying around a rock. I had never build a rocket in my pocket and I thought about something that really brought me in focus of what good happened in my life today.
An email was sent out to the school teachers in my district about a historical house that a teacher would only have to pay half the price if chosen in the lottery. So it is a $200,000 home that was going to be given away for $45,000. I entered the lottery and went home. I did all the necessary things plus I emailed and called and made sure they had my information. I then picked up my guitar and started to practice with the picture of the house on my phone. I told my friend that I was going to win that house in a very informal conversation. While practicing, I imagined what it would be like to have the feeling of my sons being in the house with me on Christmas and Thanksgiving. What it would feel like to walk down the steps, what it would feel like to walk out the front door. I it would feel like to feel the walls.
The next morning I received an email but I was not able to check it right then. However, I knew the email was about the lottery and I knew it was about me winning this lottery. I truly believed that it was mine and, I did win the lottery!
Now I have a house that I never would have been able to afford at the regular price. Every day I do some practice of gratitude, either writing it down or just praying. I did believe in The Secret and I did believe in the power of the Universe listening to my wishes. I also do feel that I had to do something in order to get it. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
