I found The Secret in sort of a roundabout way.

While shopping at the grocery store, I decided to see if they had a particular novel I had been looking for.. I didn’t find the novel, but was determined to find something to read. My attention was drawn to a smallish book.; The Secret of “The Secret “; Unlocking the Mysteries of the Runaway Bestseller, by Karen Kelly. Intrigued by the title, I thought, ah, a book about how to write a bestseller. I had a manuscript, gathering dust in my desk drawer, that I finished five, six years earlier. I thought maybe this book would give me the insight and perhaps courage to dig it out, polish it up and try to get it published. In my rush to checkout, I didn’t even look inside the front cover. I just picked it up and put it in my cart, which is not something I usually do. I usually read the inside front and back flaps before deciding to buy.

When I got home and scanned the inside flap, I had to laugh at myself for having misread the meaning of the title. I was somewhat disappointed, but decided since I bought it, I’d go ahead and read it. I had never heard of The Secret up until then, so wasn’t very excited about reading it.

I didn’t even get through the first chapter, when I put the book aside, got on the computer and went to The Secret website.

I purchased the online video that same day, and was so excited by what I saw that I purchased it again the next day for my husband to watch.

My first experience with applying the power of attraction was to try to end the excruciating pain in my hip and thigh that I suffered with every day for almost two months. I knew the pain was from a pinched sciatica nerve, but disliking going to doctors and such, I had been putting off making an appointment. I had watched the video on Friday, and cured the pain on Saturday. I simply repeated over and over again in my mind “The pain is gone, thank you, the pain is gone, thank you.” I was a little amazed, but not surprised that from that moment on (it’s been five day now) I have not had the pain at all. My husband, who I think has been somewhat skeptical of the truth and power of The Secret, is amazed that I am pain free.

I then purchased The Secret book and have almost finished reading it through once. Every day when I read a little more of it, I find more ways to apply the law and enrich my life. I printed out the check and wrote it out to myself for one million dollars. I know that seems like an exorbitant amount for a first check (it did to me at first too), but my deepest passion has always been to have the resources to help my children financially, and as many needy, deserving families with children as possible. (Besides, I’m a Scorpio, and we Scorpios do nothing in a small way.) I pinned the check up in my kitchen after I wrote “Thank you” all over the outside edges,.

Now I joyfully wait.
