Cedar Rapids, IAMy name is Brandy Panosh. I have a family of four, my husband Chris, and two kids Zach and Brianna.
Hello, my name is Brandy Panosh. I want to thank Rhonda and share my story and how The Secret helped my life and made me see it from a new perspective.
In December of 2006, I was fired from my job at least three weeks before Christmas. I was really depressed and unsure of where my future was going. I felt bad for my kids because I felt I put us in a position that they would not get a Christmas. After struggling to find a job and being a bad time of the year to be looking, I had a conversation with my mother that later would change my life entirely. She called me and told me about The Secret DVD she heard about on a talk show. I decided to do a little research about this because it seemed like the very thing I needed was some encouragement. I went to a book store and purchased the book, read it cover to cover in less than a day. After reading that book, I seemed to have a new outlook on life.
I then picked up a newspaper and saw the junior college I previously attended was having free seminars on job interviewing and resume workshops. I then decided to attend every single one. After attending the first seminar, I got to thinking about what I would really enjoy doing for a living. Then it hit me, to work with computers and learn all about them. Since I was a teenager, I have been always curious about computers and how they work. I was always fixing my parents computer and found something I could be passionate about and enjoy doing. I then decided to go back to school to a four year university and began the enrollment process for a General IT degree.
Shortly after enrolling back into college, I reflected back on the book and thought about all I was thankful for; instead of all the things I didnt have and wanted. The next morning I received a call from an IT firm asking me to come work for them, then that same day I received a call from a previous employer offering me a job. I then had to face a dilemma to decide what career path I wanted to pursue. I decided, with me going back to school, the best choice was the previous employer, as this was a job I had done previously, I knew I could excel at, and would not need much training.
Well, ever since reading the book and practicing the principles great things have been happening. In the beginning of July, the orchestrator of the job workshops called me and asked me to speak with a local newspaper about the seminars. They came to work and took my picture, and it was published in the July 4th paper and just about everyone I knew saw it. We had some old friends of ours come into town that weekend and were able to relax, have fun and enjoy ourselves. This is something my husband and I have had little to no time to do with having two small children. We recently purchased a new truck, and were thankful for the salesman who sold it to us. I felt so thankful that I decided to write a great letter to him and his dealership. I am sure that letter made his day and it made me feel good writing good things, instead of always complaining. I try to give people compliments more at work, and this seems to truly reflect in my work as well. Customers seem to be less irritated by someone who is always in a good mood and enjoying their job.
Rhonda, I cannot thank you enough for your great words and the book that simply has changed my life and others lives as well. I have printed the promise and have it at my desk to look at whenever I have negative thoughts, and it seems to get me through the negativity everyone else has around me. In fact it gets a lot of attention and after people read it they always ask me questions about it. I have told all my family and friends about this book/DVD and for everyone who has read it, it seems to have changed their life drastically for the better.
