Suddenly about 1.5 months back, my boyfriend of 5 years broke up with me saying he doesn’t feel the same and started dating a new girl. Initially I was all messed up after we broke up. I was crying every day and night but I knew that it was me who attracted this.

I pleaded and begged him for a second chance. I wanted him to see that I love him but he remained adamant. I thought of every little mistake I made during the five years as the reason for him leaving. I was desperate to get him back. For five years this man was my world and I couldn’t accept the fact that this happened.

After 2 weeks of crying I decided that I need to check where and how I went wrong. I began to read The Secret, The Power and The Magic again. I watched the movie and felt inspired to get him back.

Things changed a bit, he started contacting me again, talking to me and texting me. And yet he said he was not sure if he wants to be with me, why? Because I was again, using all my actions from a place of “needing him” and giving him again the power of my happiness.

Then I read a story on this site about a girl who also experienced a similar thing. But what made her get her ex back was learning to love herself. Letting go and knowing that her happiness rests with herself. It was that day that I decided to learn to love myself! I told my ex to contact me only when he knows what he wants.

Do I love myself?  Indefinitely, yes! Do I hate my ex? Nope, I send him my love and gratitude.

I felt inspired to write this story as maybe someone out there wants a bit of hope. Don’t give up but learn to let go! Love yourself! The Universe will give you what you want. Thank you! Thank you, thank you!
