I was attending a Christmas party at my job. Instead of having it at our workplace, we decided to go to Dave and Busters instead. The place was too packed so we decided to get a bite at McDonalds. I wasn’t really in the cheerful mood because I was hungry and it was pure chaos in the building. We headed over to the McDonalds/Chevron to go eat. We then decided afterwards to go to a hookah place downtown. Of course you need an I.d to get admission there but thankfully enough we didn’t. Something told me to look in my bag and I didn’t ignore the feeling. I soon discovered my wallet was not in my bag, nor in the car. I was filled with anxiety because my I.D, cards, and unfortunately my social security card was in my wallet.

I began to call all the places I had been to and no one had reported it missing. Luckily enough I had one bank card that I didn’t put in my wallet so I was able to get home. I was so upset I could hardly even function correctly because, practically anyone could do anything now that they had all of my info. Even though I was anxious and upset, somehow I felt a reassuring feeling that it was found and I would be OK. As soon as I got home I kept telling myself that it had been found. I wrote a note listing how grateful I was for my wallet being found. I described my wallet, I described my cards, I even wrote down the gratitude of being taught a lesson. I wrote down that my wallet was in good hands and a safe place and it would be returned. I made the note my wallpaper and every time my phone would turn on, or I would look at the time, or even begin to doubt it wasn’t found, I would see it and read it.

I did cancel everything, file a police report, and flag my social to be safe. I began to accept that even with this major shakeup in my life, I would be OK. A week later, my new cards came. For some reason my bank card wouldn’t activate. I thought this was strange and called the bank. After finally reaching customer service they told me they cancelled the new card because the day after I cancelled all my cards, someone had reported my wallet found. The manager on the Chevron side of the McDonald’s/Chevron had called the bank to let them know they had found it and put it in the safe. I was so happy even when I doubted it at times, keeping the gratitude and faith is why I have all of my information and of course my wallet back! Thanks Universe!
