No Such Thing As Coincidence
Submitted by: Gaea
philippines29 years old, a wife and a mother.
I was looking for a college when I saw this beautiful architectural building. Indeed, this school is one of the oldest existing universities and holds the oldest university charters in the Philippines and in Asia. I was amazed by it and couldn’t take it away from my mind. Little did I know that after several entrance exams that I took for other universities, I would end up being accepted in this school.
I was not aware of of The Secret back then. After that, I was still unconscious of what I was doing. I always caught myself daydreaming, simple things and yet it would happen. I thought everything was just a coincidence. And then I decided to audition in a dance troupe. I love dancing. I feel free when I dance; although I’m not as skillful as many others, I enjoy when I dance. Unfortunately I was not accepted. But then I said to myself that the next audition I will try again. I’m a little ashamed but I really wanted to get in. So I practiced and I visualized myself dancing on stage in front of a big crowd.
Then it happened! I got accepted! It was only then, when I questioned why when I imagine things, it always happens, especially when I really focused on it.
I did some research. I found articles about the power of mind, about affirmations and positive thinking. I found out about Napoleon Hill and other people who have been teaching this. I also made a vision board which is little by little coming true. I never thought that there was science or an explanation behind it. I thought I have a special powers. Then I bump into the books of Rhonda Byrne. I read her books, watch the movie and now I am so excited to share it to anybody I know.
Early last year while I was attending a mass, the preacher told us to declare all the good things that we desire. I kid my boyfriend and just declared loudly that “This year I will change my last name!” Meaning I want to get married. I was waiting for a marriage proposal, actually.
Funny but the proposal never happened but, we both decided to get married anyway because I got pregnant! Blame it to my declarations; as they say, be careful with what you wish for! But I’m happy because we both wanted to have a family. Even my age was exactly the age I had wanted to get married. Even the profession of my husband is what I had desired it to be when I was younger.
Now we have a baby. I even asked the universe to please make it a girl because we had already thought of her name 5 years ago. And of course, she’s a girl!
After having a baby, I wanted resign from my job. Not only to take care of my baby first, but because I also was tired of my boss being a “not so nice” kind of person. I had made all the good affirmations about her and looked for all the good sides of her, but it still made me want to resign and try something new.
I had already told her about my plan to resign so that she could have time to get a replacement for me. Just after 2 weeks later I received a notice that I was one of the employees who will be retrenched, meaning I will get a modest amount of money.
For others it was very sad news, but for me it was truly a blessing. I will get to take care of my baby now, have time to take a break from working and will be paid for being laid off! Truly amazing!
Now we’re planning to have a business and I am already visualizing and believing that it will be a success Thank you to The Secret for being a part of all this. I promise to also share it with anyone.
