First of all I would like to thank my friend Sayantani Ghosh for suggesting to me to watch The Secret movie and gift me the book as well. Secondly, thanks to Rhonda and team for sharing The Secret with the world.

Probably it was one of the toughest phases of my life I was going through. A job hunt. I was confident of my qualifications and I knew I would end up with a great job but time was passing by and all I was getting were rejections. I was still confident but The Secret book gave me the reason to stay positive.

I started reading The Secret two weeks back and as soon I started applying it, I got an offer from a company in two days of me applying The Secret. But here is the catch, I was interested in another offer from a better company.

Guess what?

The first company who gave me the offer actually declined the offer because I needed a visa sponsorship and they could not sponsor the visa. I am on students visa in the US and I needed a H1B visa next year.

Well my intentions of using the law of attraction grew stronger after this rejection and I started using the law to attract the offer from the better company. I created an offer letter and I used to look at it all day. I made a sketch of my work place and started imagining me working there already. Here comes the second catch, that company called me yesterday and told me they are moving forward with another candidate. Boom!! Third catch, even after listening to this rejection which was my only hope for the time being, I did not get demotivated because I had learned that things happen for a reason and if I have ordered a job from the Universe’s catalog then it has to be delivered and something better is it’s my way.

I was amazed about the way I was thinking; I have never felt such a flow of positivity within myself. The feeling was amazing. Now this “better” company actually asked me to interview for another position that they had. When I looked at it’s job description, I felt this is a better profile for me. At the same time I got an interview call from a third company who was interviewing me for a similar position. At this point in time I liked both the better company and the third company. I was confused how to apply The Secret because I would prefer to have the offer from both the companies and then decide which one to join. So what I did was, I made a list of responsibilities that I would like to perform, my salary requirements and a date when I would like to start working instead of focusing on which company to go with.

I interviewed with both the companies on the same day October 22nd, and I had set October 27th as my joining date on my vision board even though I knew that these big companies hold at least 2 round of interviews and I had my first round just 5 days before my set joining date goal. A thought came into my mind about how is this possible but then I smiled and convinced myself that if law of attraction can heal a diseased body and help people recover from deadly situations then what I am asking for is nothing in comparison to that. So I decided that I will choose a path that will help me stay positive. I stopped thinking about the next round of interviews, when will I get the offer, etc., etc. and instead I focused on thinking about working in a company from October 27th. For I knew that I had already placed my order with the Universe by asking exactly what I wanted. I believed that I already had it and I had received and acted as if I am working at my new office starting October 27th.

There were a lot of equations that initially ran through my mind, both these jobs were in a different location and different states actually. I needed to find a place to live in, and move within a day. So on my vision board I wrote that I am going to get a place to live for $500/month and I would just make one phone call and book my room and be ready to move in a day. One thing I learned through this process that you need to carve your own path and methodology to stay positive, but still following the basics; Ask, Believe, Receive.

Another catch was the job description I had asked for from the universe did not match with the two companies I interviewed. I wanted a technical plus financial/sales management type job profile and with only 1 year of experience in my industry, this kind of position was tough to get in a big company. On the 24th of October a friend of mine called and he told me that his uncle runs a company, much smaller in size, where I can get my desired position. Same night my friend’s uncle called me, interviewed me and asked me to join his company on October 27th.

Wow! That’s exactly what I had asked for!

Another catch: I declined the offer because the pay was not good and I decided to wait on the other two companies. One month later I got rejections from both of the companies.

I was devastated, I was broken, I thought I lost the battle completely. But I called my friend’s uncle and asked if he still has a vacancy. He said he has filled the position he had interviewed me for but he really liked me and gave me an offer to join the company, regardless.

He created a new position for me in the company. I was shocked!

Universe always does justice. It knew that what I wanted in my job profile I will only get at this company and hence this company’s offer came back to me and this time for a senior position, even better. The law of attraction just worked magically!!

I am still surprised with how things circled back and gave me exactly what I had asked for. As The Secret says that law of attraction is a law of nature and it never fails. I just showed a living example of it. The universe is magnificent. I am just amazed and I am proud of myself that I did follow it. I now know what I have to do in my life. Live up to The Secret.
