Gratitude Is The Best Attitude.
Submitted by: Eva Maria
Sheffield, UKI am originally from the Netherlands and I recently moved with my husband, whom I have been happily married to for 7 months, to the UK. We got married in the south of India. And I am two months pregnant with our first baby.
Hello everybody, thank you for reading my story, and thank you Rhonda for letting us in on The Secret!
My name is Eva and I first came across The Secret in 2006. I was studying taxes and the education was very hard for me. I struggled with the cases we had to solve and calculations.
Then one day after a very stressful day I was sitting in the train, pouring my heart out about all the difficulties I came across in class to some random stranger. After a couple of minutes or so he stopped me right in the middle of a sentence and said. You know what you should do? You should start reading The Secret.
And so I did. It changed my life so much.
I never had high expectations of myself. In the beginning of this education I was very doubtful if I could pull it off. Even though I had gotten through a very strict personnel recruitment and selection.
I started to have faith in myself, The Secret gave me an immense boost of confidence. Of course I passed all my exams and went from being an intern to tax control and surveillance. But my story does not end there.
Even though I had a good job providing for all my basic needs I wanted to go on a vacation somewhere warm and sunny. Ever since I can remember there were always money problems. I grew up in a minimum income household and there were times we hardly had any food at all. We never went on any family vacations or trips and certain foods, like steak, would only be eaten on Christmas or other festivities.
And there I was, holding The Secret to bringing more money into my life in my hand. So I decided to make a wish board. I started putting up pictures of sunny beaches with all the gratitude in my heart. I put up a bank statement saying the exact amount of money I wanted in my account. Every day I said thank you and felt great about the amount of money that was coming my way. I opened bills as if they were checks and paid them all with love in my heart.
After a month or so I forgot about it and put the wish board somewhere out of sight. Until one day I got a call from my housing corporation saying they were going to break down my house and rebuild shops. As a compensation they were going to provide me with a new rental property plus 10,000.00 euro plus another 250.00 euro for paint etc. That is about 12,700.00 dollars. I could not believe my ears! I thanked and cried tears with joy!
Then I started looking for my wish board again, because I could not remember how much I put on the bank statement. It was exactly 10,000.00 euro that I had put up! That same year I went to Cuba on my very first tropical vacation!
So all I want to say is, keep the faith to the ones that are struggling, miracles do happen. Feel love and gratitude in your hearts and the rest will follow.
Gratitude is the best attitude.
