Tend To Your Own Joy.

Seoul, South KoreaA gay dude trying to manifest wealth, a perfect partner and three children using The Secret.
It’s been three months since I first started reading The Secret series. After I read The Magic, I made a wish list as one of the gratitude exercises it tells us to do.
One of my wishes was to always have enough money to help my siblings whenever they needed financial help. Not because they were often in financial trouble but because, I don’t know. I was like that. I worried unnecessarily. Maybe a negative belief that anything might go wrong anytime had been deeply rooted in my subconscious mind ever since I had three brain surgeries due to a severe car accident when I was six years old. It was one of the wishes I most fervently wished.
About a month ago, I learned that both of my siblings were going through financial difficulties. My brother’s company had officially announced that salaries would be delayed for two months. I don’t know exactly what had caused my sister’s money problem, probably something wrong related to my brother-in-law’s company. She asked me if I could lend her what was not a small amount of money. I couldn’t because I had already lent four times what she asked me for to my brother and I did not have any more money to spare. I was disconsolate of course.
But one morning, I realized that I had brought it upon myself. The Secret teaches that if we focus on negative things by constantly worrying about them, they will happen with a vengeance. I constantly wished for the ability to help my siblings if they were in need and now they were in need! It was a wish not a worry, one might wonder. But it was a wish that contained a fear factor of siblings in need. And my fear brought fearful situations to me just as The Secret says it will.
So I decided never to worry about any of my family members ever again and instead to focus on my own joy. And when you think about it, that is the only logical thing to do if you trust The Secret. The Secret says we can succeed by tending to our own joy, which I do believe. And if I succeed enough, I can help whomever I want! So it really wasn’t necessary for me to fear on my siblings’ behalf. All I need to do is tend to my own joy, I decided.
I deleted that wish with a fear factor from my wish list and started to focus on my joy, trying to feel good all the time by thinking only about nice things. Instead of hoping nothing goes wrong for my family members, I imagined everything going extremely well for them, for instance.
It’s been two weeks, and a few days ago I heard from my father that my sister’s husband had gotten a new job at a very good company. It may not have instantly solved their financial trouble but I believe was a terrific start.
And today I heard from my brother that he had received his salary more than a month earlier than had been anticipated!
I focused on joy and it brought joyful situations with it. I firmly believe that as I become better and better at focusing on joy, it will bring more and more joyful situations.
