I am very thankful to Rhonda Byrne and the teachings of The Secret.

My mother showed me the film back in high school, but I wasn’t very convinced and so overlooked what The Secret had to offer. After high school however, I came across the book and started to read it and use it’s teachings. I have been using The Secret for a while now, and even though sometimes I forget that what you think has a very big impact on what is capable of becoming a reality, recently it has proven it’s magnificent power and provided me with something that I really wanted. Friendship.

I was studying a foreign language in a foreign city and I had forgotten the power of The Secret. I was very shy and quiet in classes and it was hard making friends for me. So I started surrounding myself with negative thoughts, thinking that there was something wrong with me that nobody wanted to be my friend. I even decided that my characteristics resembled those of a person incapable of making friends! Well the course ended and because of all my negative thoughts I had not made any friends and so spent my personal time out of class on my own.

Apart from my lonely experience, I had enjoyed the course there and appreciated what I learned. From this rightful usage of The Secret, I was accepted to the next session of the course. I really thought that I had a great learning experience there and so decided to do another session.

But this time I told myself it was going to be different. I started focusing on positive things, imagining myself being surrounded by friends and seeing myself as a person that people thought was interesting and somebody they would want to get to know. I envisioned the places we would go to, the kind of attitude they would have and the common interests we would share. Instead of bringing myself down, I started loving myself and being grateful for having such a wonderful opportunity to learn a foreign language among people who speak it. I complimented myself and knew that I was a loving person that had so much enthusiasm and passion to share.

I asked, I was grateful, and I received.

On the first day of school I had made so many friends with whom I still have wonderful relationships with to this day. All the things I envisioned, we ended up doing. Throughout the whole course I no longer sat alone in my room wondering why people didn’t want to be friends with me. I was off enjoying life and being grateful for it with my new found friends.

I hope others who have strayed away from the path of the teachings of The Secret, like me, find their way back and continue on living their lives with their hearts filled with love and gratitude.
