I heard about The Secret several years ago through a friend of mine who had read it and was attempting to practice it. I wasn’t interested in reading it as I already had the book entitled The Power of Your Subconscious Mind. I figured The Secret was just more of the same.

Fast forward to recent times. I was re-introduced to the book through a facebook friend. He advised me to watch the movie. I did and became very excited about it. It was such an awakening! As I wrote in my journal and read the stories on this site I was reminded of the times I applied this practice prior to seeing the movie or reading the book. The most significant time was when I was in need of a new car.

My son was of age to have a car so I wanted to give him my car and get a new one. My credit was poor, but I had saved up some money for a down payment. I started trying to figure out what car I wanted. My mind changed just about daily. Once it was a BMW, an Audi, a Maxima, Sonata, etc. I went back and forth with it. However, I kept being drawn to the Maxima. I’ve liked it since the current body style came out. I test drove the Maxima, but it had loose steering. I was on the fence about that. Anyway, I ended up deciding that I wanted the Maxima in the current body style with all the upgrades. I just couldn’t find one in my price range. So I gave it up to God. I simply said “God when I am ready to buy a car show me the Maxima that I want in my price range.” Then I promptly forgot about it. I’m not even sure when I made that request.

Eventually I decided that I would go online and see if I could get pre-approved for a loan. I went on Capital One’s website and filled out the application. To my surprise and delight I was approved! I can’t really say I liked the interest rate though. The craziest part is right on the approval page was an advertisement for a Maxima in the current body style with everything except Navigation. It was in my price range! It was also at a dealer up the street! I went and tested it. Loved it. Got them to take off another $500 and drop my interest rate by 3 percentage points. With no money down it is mine today! Oh they had just dropped the price a few thousand dollars that day! I can’t figure out why they couldn’t sell it, but it had been to several dealerships starting up North all the way down to me. I get compliments on the car all the time. This stuff works!!

I will be mindful to apply these practices all the time. I am currently using the practice to become the confident, happy, and loving person that I know I am. Thank you to The Secret team for the enlightenment.
