I never thought I would actually be writing my own Secret experience, but I think that this wonderful incident was worth sharing.
First and foremost, I am ETERNALLY grateful to Rhonda Byrne and her wonderful team for sharing what could be the most life-changing piece of information ever shared to an 18 year old.
I take a rigorous course in High School. It is called the IB. Now, we have orals which are recorded, sent and later graded by the examiners. These orals are crucial to our final grades.
Ok, so I had done my French oral last year, and this year it was time for my English one which consisted of: 12 poems, 12 different extracts from two books. The day of the oral, we would have 24 envelopes, each containing either a poem or a story extract. We would have to pick one, and pray that it is the one we wanted.
The problem is that with my hectic schedule, inside and outside of school, weeks flew by and little did I know that the orals were approaching and I had NOT studied. One of the books required for the oral, I didn’t even read, I covered only 3 poems one of which I knew by heart. As for the second book, I did not know thoroughly enough to perform an oral.
There was ONLY one poem I knew like the back of my hand! I NEEDED to pick that one, I had too. I was praying and begging the universe to just please help me. Pressure kept building up, I literally cried in every one of my classes the day before my oral.
That night, I sat on my desk, and did not even study the other stories. I visualized everything. I pictured myself getting ready in the morning, making my way to the bus, getting to school, entering the examination room, picturing the box with my teacher’s name labeled on it. Picturing my hand reaching for an envelope, closing my eyes tight, and seeing the title of the poem I wanted, in bold and big letters. I imagined exactly how I was going to proceed to analyze the poem, and how my teacher would be literally blown away.
The next day, I reached for an envelope and it was the poem I wanted and needed to have to pass the grade, I literally squeezed a cry of joy. 1 in 24 chance of falling on the one I NEEDED or else I would have failed. I had faith in the universe. I took a risk.
Since then, my life has changed, and I try hard to incorporate The Secret into my life everyday.
Rhonda was right, we are not made for difficult and hectic lives, God did not put us on this Earth for this reason. We are to educate ourselves, lead amazing lives, and improve this wonderful world we live in.
