MinnesotaI'm a preschool teacher and mother of three.
I’ll keep it brief because that’s all it took from me. A brief wish. A brief prayer each day. Here’s my story.
In 2008, my husband lost over a third of his income. To support our family we went into a tailspin of credit card debt. We have been chained to this debt ever since. We’ve both been working hard to pay the cards down, but it has been a slow process. Last spring, after listening to The Secret on CD, I made a simple request. I need $20,000 by Christmas. I asked every few days. My daily prayer would sound something like this, “How’s it going? Is that money coming together? I know you’ll get it to me and I can’t wait to see how. $20,000 before Christmas, just so you don’t forget.”
Three weeks before Christmas, my husband called to tell me that we have four life insurance policies. Two of these he is going to sell and when all is said and done, both of our policies are worth $20,000 – cash in our pockets. It will go straight to paying off our credit card debt – a heavy chain that has worn us down.
We will have this money by Christmas. We will actually have $20,000 by Christmas. I am at a loss for words on how I feel. Humbled, stunned, thunderstruck. The tears of joy are making it hard to see what I’m typing.
