I have been seperated from my childs father for over two years. At the start of our relationship it was magical, we meet a couple years prior to being involved. I saw him as someone that would never be interested in me as all the women loved him, but he was. Two years later we meet up again as we lived in different countries and tried a long distance relationship and a year after starting a relationship I gave birth to our child. We decided to move to the same country and live together but on the way to planning the move it was almost like he got cold feet, he stopped talking about it got less interested in the move and than finally he cheated. I broke up with him because I guessed he wasn’t ready to settle, but I always hoped we would live as one and be together once again.
In the beginning he kept calling and shared the hope we would be together, but then he got a girlfriend and that hope faded. However as early as April this year he called to say he missed me and his child.
Over the last few weeks I started reading The Secret and became filled with hope that we would reunite.
However I got a call from his parent who explained that my childs father is settling down with his girlfriend and there moving in together.
My hopes were dashed but because of The Secret I was able not to fall apart and keep going.
Although I was initially upset, I was able not to be angry and felt grateful that his parent stopped me from continuing my hope to be together as a family like I always dreamt.
So thank you to this book for giving me the tools to deal with fleeted dreams without all the tears and upset.
I’m still in love with my childs father despite what I know, but no doubt in time I will heal and the feeling of us meant to be will end.
