My perfect job!
Submitted by: Kelsey
the suburbs of ChicagoI'm 19 and am so amazed by the LOA It gives me this warm fuzzy feeling inside and I can feel the positive energy I am so incredibly grateful for everything in my life :)
(First off every morning when I wake up I say “Let’s make magic happen”!!!)
Last Friday early morning I was driving home from the gym with my boyfriend. Out of nowhere I said, “do you know what my perfect job would be, Timmy? Working at the library! I mean it’s literally a hop, skip & a jump away from my house (I can see it when I look out my door). It’s calm and slow paced, the people who work there are such great people, I would be working with people and children, the hours are fantastic, and its a government job so i would get all holidays off! And it would make me super happy being in there!!
I was getting really excited and feeling the energy (it was amazing!). We continued down the road and just as we were passing the library, I saw a huge sign. It said NOW HIRING YOUTH ASSISTANT.
I was so excited i was in tears I said “Tim, as soon as they open i am going to apply!”
So 9 am rolls around and I brought my resume and and filled out my application. The lady (who I have known since I was little because I’ve been going to that library forever!) took my application and said Dan will contact you if he is interested.
The next day around 9:15 my phone rings. It is Dan! He says “it’s great to see you applied. What time would you want to come for an interview”?
I replied I could come now!!
He laughed and said how about 10:15. I obviously agreed ! I walked up there and met him for my interview. He told me how happy he was to recognize one of the names of people who have applied. He told me he was hiring immediately (because his last assistant had to leave unexpectedly). We joked around (because I have known him since he started when I was, like, 6). He asked me questions about my experience with children and my creativeness (I am very crafty) because it was a position where I would have to organize the crafts, read stories to children, shop for craft supplies (on the job), and basic library duties (so basically everything I like!). I was so happy and grateful to have an interview but he told me he has a few other interviews but he will get back to me asap.
I got a call this morning (Monday). It was Dan and he said that he apologizes but he has filled the position but applications stay on file for months and if anything opens he will let me know.
I was kind of disappointed and felt kind of rejected but I calmed down. I still had a gut feeling that this position is mine. I mean, why would the law of attraction lead me that far then slam a door in my face? Especially when i felt so good about it and felt it all weekend!! I even told my family this is my new job! I knew like I knew that this position belonged to me
Later this evening my phone rang and it was Dan! He explained to me that the other candidate wasn’t able to take the position and I was the runner up! He asked me if I could start immediately!!!
I am so happy!!! i feel like doing a flip or something. I start tomorrow and I am sooooo EXCITED!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!! I hope this inspires other to never give up on what you want. Just believe and feel and make magic happen!!!!!
