I would love to start off by saying a huge thank you to Rhonda, The Secret team, and for everyone who has posted their own stories. Without all of you, my story would not have been possible!

About six months ago, I was in a terrible state of depression. Nothing seemed to be going right, my relationships with my friends and family weren’t fantastic, my usually good grades were slipping, and so many more things were going wrong. Even worse, memories of being sexually harassed as a teenager started to resurface, bringing back all the insecurities and fear that I had felt back then. My quality of life was very low. I am sorry to say that I started seriously contemplating suicide and even started planning on how I was going to do it. I cried every day for three months until one day I randomly stopped crying, and it was as though a voice said to me, “Get out of bed, go to the library, and find The Secret.”

I had heard of The Secret before, but I never thought of applying it to myself because it sounded a bit unrealistic to me. I got out of bed, saw the sun shining between gray clouds, and immediately felt better, because I knew something amazing was about to happen.

The bus I took to the library was number 111, which I took to be a sign of favor, since the number 111 seemed to follow me around, indicating good luck. I found the book, finished a great deal of it that night, and immediately started a gratitude journal for all of the things that I knew were on their way.

Three months after beginning to use The Secret, so many amazing things have happened! I was allowed extra time to finish two classes that I thought would keep me from graduating, my relationships with my family and my roommate are much better, and I am starting a new job that I really wanted to have! Better yet, my roommate and I are renting a new, beautiful condo very close to my new job, and I won’t have to move back home like I thought I was going to have to!

Looking back at the very sad person I was, I realize that all the bad things that have happened to me were the result of my negative thinking, and once I turned my thoughts around, everything started to fall into place! If I ever get discouraged about a new goal, I remind myself of all the things that have come to me since applying The Secret, large or small.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for The Secret! Without it, I probably would not even be alive today!
