Philadelphia, PAI am a student at Temple University and using The Secret has just changed my entire life!
I read The Secret a few years ago and I have continued to apply it to my everyday life! I am a freshman at school right now and on my desk since the beginning of the school year I have had 3 post it notes. The first one was to get into a French class that I need for my minor. The class was entirely full when I was able to enroll and the other teacher is not the one I wanted. I decided that I would get into the French class I desired with the teacher I desired because that’s what I wanted. I took action, I went out of my way to go and meet her, I emailed her and kept in touch over break. I got an email around Christmas time informing me that she would let me in her class. This class already had too many students but I still got in.
The next post it note was to go to Europe with my sister this summer. I love to travel and I really wanted to go with my sister. She had no intention of going back to Europe. She wanted to go somewhere else/different but I knew she would change her mind and we would go to Europe, the places that I wanted to go. Of course she changed her mind, and we will be booking our flight in the next 2 weeks.
Last post it note is perhaps the most important. I needed to become an RA for next year. There are many benefits to becoming one, that would have helped me very much. This job is very competitive at my school and around 500 people applied. I knew I would be amazing in this position so I decided the position would be mine no matter what. My entire desk became covered with signs and quotes saying “you can do it” or “You DID IT! You ARE an RA!”. I would say thank you very much for giving me this job. I wrote down all the things this experience would give to me and I could really feel my life changing. It just seemed like I already had it and I truly believed with my Whole Being that the job was mine! Of course in addition to this thought and belief process, I was working very hard joining the right clubs and the government organization in my dorm. I met great people who took part in the RA life and I let them see the real me.
About a week ago I got the news, out of 500 people 22 were picked. I was picked! I hope this story encourages people to believe that what ever you want is in reach. Totally believe it is “yours” everyday, and act like it is yours until it is “technically” given to you! Also, be thankful for all that you have, I have had an incredibly lucky and blessed life and every morning I would acknowledge my life and how happy I am that it is has been so special!
