Mere months ago, I was suffering from anxiety and an emptiness in thinking that I had a limited number of prospects available to me; that to achieve was to struggle and that most people who managed to attain their goals, had done so by chance and with some luck. My outlook on life became increasingly bleaker until I had convinced myself that I didn’t have the motivation to study towards my degree. I lost my part time job in a supermarket and became ever more distant from friends and family. I obsessed about having no money and no prospects. This mindset ultimately put strain on my relationships as I had convinced myself that I wasn’t happy, allowing it to spill over into all aspects of my life. Just when I thought I was spiralling into the darkness, something took hold of me and pulled me towards the light.

After a huge argument with my parents, I took some time alone to think and prayed for the first time that there was some way for me to turn my circumstances around and find peace. Only days later, a friend who I hadn’t been in touch with for a long time called out of the blue and we arranged to catch up. Upon meeting, I tried to put on a brave face but after a while my mood got the better of me and I broke down in front of her, telling her that everything seemed to be holding me back and that I was struggling to stay positive. She told me that I had to believe that I deserved to feel magnificent and that I must use every sense to really feel good about myself and my circumstances in order to achieve what I desire. She recommended that I read The Secret, so I ordered the book that evening when I arrived home.

From the moment I opened the book, I felt a great sense of relief, which soon turned to determination and finally joy! Every word jumped off the page and urged me to FEEL the perfection that my life deserved to be. As I learned to appreciate all the good in my life along with all the wonderful things that were happening to me and believed that what I wanted was already mine, things started to appear to me. I started to draw in the most positive and influential people, I started to find money in the most unexpected places, I started to feel unimaginably happy just by seeing and feeling the good in everything.

I carried my copy of The Secret everywhere that I could and opened it at random pages every so often just to reignite my new-found mantra for creating my perfect life. I also purchased a copy of The Power and could literally feel myself breathing love into every part of my life. I gave thanks for everything and loved as deep as I possibly could. Recently, after feeling with every fibre in my body that I had a wonderful part time job again as well as giving thanks and love for it every day, I received a truly magical e-mail…

For a few weeks after losing my job, I had been applying to many businesses looking for part-time work, but at the same time worrying about my financial situation and obsessing over my unemployment. The e-mail that I received was from a company that I had contacted months before and been flatly rejected for the position I had applied for. This time though, they were asking if I was interested in re-applying for a slightly different position. I knew then that The Secret had delivered this opportunity to me. I had manifested the e-mail through my belief that I already possessed a brilliant part-time job that I loved wholly. I continued to tell myself that I deserved the job, that I loved the job and I convinced myself that I couldn’t make any plans on a Saturday for the foreseeable future because I would be working for that company!

It gives me so much pride and pleasure to say that I was successful in achieving the job that I believed I would get thanks to The Secret and The Power. It is working its magic in so many aspects of my life; my relationships are wonderful, my job is amazing, my studies are exciting and my future is promising. Everyday I am so thankful for the love that surrounds me and the love I can give. I truly believe that I am deserving of a wonderful life and I feel it during every waking moment!!
