Stepping Out of the Comfort Zone
Submitted by: April G
Angels Camp, CAI am a 48 year old mother of two beautiful daughters that are now grown and gone, I decided to go back to school and get my degree in Psychology. I have lived in CA most of my life.
Going back to college at my age (48) was a bit scary for me. I have not been to school for a long time, and I did not know a thing about computers but I stepped out and did it anyway. I said from the very beginning that nothing less than an A was going to be acceptable. I have gotten straight A’s on every assignment I have turned in, and with 7 classes under my belt already, (I started March,2011), and I have a 4.0 grade point average!
I decided to do my Thesis on the Law of Attraction because I have used it before in my life and it really does work! My instructor was a bit skeptical, but he has really warmed up to the idea as he has seen my paper progressing. Turns out though, I still had a lot to learn! There were still certain areas of my life that I was not willing to let go of my control of. The more I have learned, the braver I have become.
This weekend I decided to step out of my comfort zone. I currently live with my fiance and his parents! We have been “stuck” here for the last 6 years, with no possible end in sight as our finances are no better than they were 6 years ago. I am a very generous person, sometimes to a fault, as my father has told me because I will help people when I really do not have the resources to do so. This last week I over-extended myself financially again, buying food, clothing, and giving transportation to, a young homeless couple that had just moved into our area, and started attending our church. No one asked me to do it, I just felt lead to. I only had $60.00 left in my checking account, but I decided that I wanted to find a place of our own to live.
My fiance and I were out in town, and I suddenly said,”Turn down this street, just to see what we see.” We did not get very far when we saw a mobile home for sale. We slowed down and looked closer, and saw on the sign that the price was only $2000.00. The people that own it live in the one right next door and they saw us and asked if we wanted to see it, and I immediately said ,”Yes!” It turns out that I knew the women from a few years ago, and we got to talking. I explained the current living situation we were in and both she and her husband said,”Well you need to move out, we will be willing to take payments, and you can move in as soon as you want-it’s just sitting empty.”
I am now suddenly going to be purchasing a home for the first time in my life! Now remember that I only have $60.00, but I do have a stipend check from the school coming any day for the amount of-you guessed it-$2000.00! This couple was so generous though, they said that I could just give them $500.00 to move in, and the rest in very doable payments! I do not know what made me say, “Drive this way,” but I am glad we did. I am affirming everyday that the home is mine by telling everyone I know that I found a home to buy, and that we are going to be moving in soon. I have already visualized what I am going to do to make it “MY” home-I can see it. And any-day the money will be in my account because I just got an email confirmation.
Today, before I went to church, I decided to tithe 10% of my money for the first time ever. So before I even left the house I wrote a check to the church in the amount of $6.00. We got to church, and I had not been seated for more than a minute, when a friend from church came up to me and handed me a check for $50.00! I said,”What’s this for?” She said that she just wanted to help me out because she knew that I had done so much for the young couple in our church, even though I really could not afford it. I left church today with more money than I walked in with!
Then to top off my day, I went into the bookstore in town and was just looking. On the shelf was a book that I had just read about on the computer the night before. I wanted this book, but it was $24.95, so considering my financial state, I thought I’d better wait. This book was brand new, the two CD’s that come with it were not even open, and the two free tickets for the author’s seminar were even still in it! And it only cost me $8.00! I really wanted this because I am planning on starting my own business as soon as I move into my new home, and she is a financial guru whose seminars cost hundreds of dollars to attend!
All this in the span of two days! Like I said , I knew the Law of Attraction works because I had manifested a healthy body, after being given a death sentence a few years ago, and I manifested the car of of dreams. I had a Cadillac on my life board, and I just recently got to take it off because I was able to purchase one that is retailed at $6000.00 for $600.00, simply because the person did not need it, and knew I needed a car! Now it COULD have been any type of car and I would have been grateful-but it was a Cadillac just like the one on my board-even the same color! I do not know what is going to happen tomorrow, but I know that from now on I am going to start walking in faith that what I want, need, or desire is out ther just waiting for me to claim it!
