USACrazy, but No Coincidence
Before I had even heard of The Secret (I think even before it came out), I had an experience that I knew I had something to do with. It was in sixth grade. I liked this guy named… well, lets call him Louis. He was in a lot of my classes, but sat near me in computer class. Wanting to impress him, I kept saying how I was going to Florida for February break (to this day, Im still not sure if he heard me). I remember being really happy when the plane landed (I also remember being really upset that Id miss a day of school flying in on a Friday because it would be one less day Id get to see Louis). However, I dont remember if I was thinking about him, or if I wished he could be there.
Anyway, my parents and I hung out at our hotel for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and also went to visit our friends in Florida (or really, my dads friend, his third wife, and her kids with her first husband). On Monday, her kids would be going to Universal Studios for the first time. I was surprised at this since they live in Florida. They were going to go with us. Monday came, and the three of us were very excited. We went on tons of rides at both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure and had a blast.
Then came
that moment
It happened over six years ago and it is still very vivid in my memory. The three of us were laughing and jumping around on the sidewalk diagonal to the Twister ride at Universal Studios. I looked up for a second. I saw a guy in sunglasses. I thought he looked like Louis. But he hadnt said a word about going to Florida, I thought. Then, I saw another guy in sunglasses. He looked like Louiss older brother. I had never met his sister, but I knew he had one. There was a girl wearing sunglasses near them. My friends and I were going to watch a street show. I told them in a whispered tone, I think the guy I like is here. They told me to go for it. It turned out that the guy and his siblings watched the street show, too. But we were on opposite sides. I was watching the street show, but I also kept looking at him to see if I could tell if it was Louis.
After the show (I dont remember if he took his sunglasses off or not), I determined that it was indeed Louis. Since my friends had told me to go for it, I walked in a diagonal line to the Twister ride, where I thought hed be able to hear me. So I yelled, Hey Louis, follow me! Then I walked a few steps. But I turned around and there was no sign of him or his family. Weird. I went back to my friends and we had ourselves a wonderful day.
The next day, my friends had school. But I was on February break! So, I went back to Universal Studios. I think I had some sort of feeling that Louis would be there again. I really wanted to buy some SpongeBob stuff from a cart you get to right after you get off the moving walkways. I think there was a problem with my moms credit card or something. All I remember about that is, it took a really long time. I can remember the shirt, the pants, and the shoes I was wearing that day: a light pink shirt with a butterfly on it with matching Capri pants and white, flat sandals. (The butterflys colors were dark pink, blue, and yellow.) So Im waiting to buy my stuff, smiling the entire time, and I glance over at the moving walkways
And who do I see walk in but Louis and his family? I had decided to be a bit braver than the previous day. This time, I walked up to them and waited until I actually knew he was in earshot. Then I said, Hi, Louis. And he said, Hi. My mom thinks his brother said, Follow her, but if he did, I was too happy to notice. He didnt follow me (at least to my knowledge), but thats okay. I was content.
So, that is my amazing and totally weird story about the time I saw the guy I liked in Florida. At the time, I knew it wasnt a coincidence. Now, I know the reason behind it: I attracted it.
