I was introduced to The Secret in the summer of 2007, and like many people, I was skeptical of this book and I dismissed what it had to offer. Then approximately 6 months later, I saw a YouTube clip and I began to understand what it meant, I bought the DVD and the book and actually cried the first time a viewed the DVD, the realization of The Secrets potential was mind blowing. Since then I knew that anything that you truly want and are ready for is within grasp.

People think that I am one of the luckiest people; I explain that I am not lucky I just have a positive attitude. Once I read The Secret, I decided what grades I wanted in my final year and I got them, I wanted to do a Masters degree, and I got accepted in. I have been to 9 job interviews in my lifetime and I received 8 job offers, the only one that I did not receive was a lucky escape as the applicant that got the job left after 2 weeks, and most applicants after that did the same. In almost every job I have interviewed for I have been offered a higher position than I was applying for, and more money than was originally offered, all of this in the middle of the worst economic recession in Irish history. Recently I have landed my dream job when everyone I know is fleeing the country because they cannot get work; I was offered the job yesterday and offered more money without asking.

Also a few months ago I had made a PowerPoint presentation of all of the things that I would like to achieve in my life, and one was three pictures of a couple in love, random pictures that I picked off of the internet. I was very busy at the time and did not watch the slideshow very much, but last week I started watching it daily and noticed that the men in the pictures were all very similar looking, and not at all like my type. I laughed to myself and thought it a little strange. Then on Saturday night I ended up getting with a guy I had known for years and always thought was gorgeous and a really nice guy. We were instantly taken with each other, he said he had liked me for ages and we had an amazing connection. The following day I watched the slide show and noticed that he is actually the splitting image of the men in the pictures in my slideshow, it was the strangest thing in the world, three random pictures that I had unintentionally put together and looked liked models, and I attract a real life version with all the characteristics I wanted in my partner; funny, smart, kind and respectful.

My message to everyone is be grateful for everything in your life, even the smallest things and do not focus on the bad. When searching for a job I would not look at the news that contained constant bulletins about job cuts and kept reading about people that had just found employment in order to convenience myself that there was jobs out there and it worked. I would also recommend everyone to make a slideshow of what they want in their lives, as parts of your slide show become reality you will know that the rest are within your grasp.
