Reno, NV19 year old inveterate actor/writer/producer/director who loves every second of life. Appreciate all the small (and big) things in life! Live, Laugh, Love, Believe.
A few months ago, the director of my Performers Studio came up to another student and myself asking if we would like to write a television show for the Studio that will be broadcasted locally. For years I’ve been wishing to have my own show to write and produce, so the opportunity was just too good to pass up. We were hoping to film at a local studio, but due to the economy, it closed its doors (turned out to be a good thing, haha).
I stumbled across The Secret once again in my life and immediately took it to heart as I looked back on past good experiences and realized I had been attracting them all along.
Our show faced all sorts of problems. One, we didn’t have the expenses. Two, we didn’t have the film equipment. Three, we didn’t have actors who were committed or ready to jump on board. I quickly started to apply the LOA.
I sat down with the director and told her everything we needed and told her, “We need to start auditioning and rehearsals.” She said, “We don’t even have the cameras, the money, or the equipment yet. We shouldn’t be jumping in yet.” I just simply told her, “We’re going to get the cameras and equipment. The money will come. Let’s start working.”
I put my full belief in the LOA and believed that the show will be on the air. The other student and I became great friends and have spent over a couple hundred hours set building/designing. He happens to be an electrical engineer (I know, right?), so we found cardboard, duct tape, papermachee, and paint to be our best friends. The set looks amazing!
So, we revised the script to perfection, we’re holding auditions this Thursday, and actors are running up to us asking which parts they should audition for and offering help in any way they can. A few minutes ago, as I was reading the stories of other LOAers, the director calls me. She knows a videographer who has brand new film equipment (Cameras, boom, green screen, etc.) who is interested in helping our show as he’s very interested in the concept and script… for FREE! I cannot believe it.
The LOA never fails and each time it keeps surprising me! Haha. The money is on the way as well. I’ve attracted a lot of ideas!
I want to say THANK YOU to Rhonda and everyone who has written all these inspiring stories. I also want to add that I’ve been visioning, believing, speaking, and acting on moving to L.A. in January. A few days ago, something BIG came up and it guarantees moving to L.A. in January. I’m really excited and as soon as I get the word, you’ll be seeing another story from me soon!
Gratitude is the key to the LOA. If you’ve been receiving some ‘hit and misses’, be thankful. Give thanks for everything (the weather, the bed you slept on, the clothes you’re wearing, the people you meet). You’ll be surprised. 🙂
