The Secret first came to me in 2007. I was restless in my business feeling that I could do more, so I went searching the internet hoping for something to pop out at me in way of work. I can’t remember the name of the business that captured my attention, but it was the story about the business and about how this woman came into this business by applying The Secret to her life that intrigued me. She talked about how much her life had changed after she read the book “The Secret”. I had no idea what she was talking about as I had never heard about The Secret.

About a week later, I was shopping at Wal-Mart and there in the book section was the book “The Secret”. I picked it up and started reading it in the store, but I didn’t buy it. Instead, I went home and searched the internet for more information on it. It was through the website that I purchased the online version. Two days later, I went back to Wal-Mart and purchased the book. Since then I have purchased the book, the movie, and the audio set.

What has happened and continues to happen in my life after reading and applying The Secret has been nothing but phenomenal.

In 2007, we bought a house that really needed work badly. According to our neighbors, the house had not had any work done on it since the 1950s. I kid you not; the original counter was still in the house, you know the one with the silver trim that always left a mess on your clothes after leaning on it for so long. The walls were covered with plywood in every room and the house was screaming, fix me! Fix me! We bought this house because my husband wanted a fixer upper and because it is a very solid house.

That first year our heating bill was never under $300.00. How badly I wanted this house fixed was never far from my mind, but I wondered how we could ever afford to fix it up. It was about this time that The Secret came into my life and with it came a new perspective on life. I read and applied The Secret to my wants and desires and let the universe take over, and oh how it continues to work.

My husband had been injured many years ago, and through the years he worsened to a point that when he came home from work, I would cry seeing him in pain. It was in my heart to see him retire, so that he could rest his weary body and heal to a point where he would enjoy life more. One day after reading The Secret a nagging feeling came over me to investigate my husband’s case for compensation. It took me a little over a month to find that not only was he entitled to compensation because of his injuries but that he was owed a lot of money because of the loss of income he incurred throughout the years.

In 2008, we received a cheque for over $85,000 in money that was owed to him because of the loss of income. With this money we were able to completely remodel our home inside and out. This was just the beginning.

My husband opened his eyes to The Secret after I bought three lottery tickets from the Heart and Stroke Foundation lottery draw. I told my husband that I was going to win. I placed pictures of the prizes in my room and every morning and night I would look at these pictures and say, I’m going to win. I never said how much or what, just that I was going to win. When the draw finally happened, I received a letter informing me that I was a winner. The tickets were $100.00 each or three for $250.00. I won $300.00. I actually won $100.00 on each ticket. Even though the amount was only $50.00 more, it was the odds that make the win unbelievable. What are the odds that all three tickets would be picked in a national draw? Had I been more specific about the amount I wanted to win, I believe the outcome would have been much more.

So many things have changed since I accidentally found The Secret; there just isn’t enough space to write it all down. What I will say is that not only do I talk the talk but I also walk the walk when it comes to The Secret. It has changed my life and lives around me. As a paralegal I often get clients who are down to their last dollar, depressed and ready to give up. With a smile, I always tell them there is hope, there is a better way, and then I give them my copy of The Secret to read and apply. Has it helped them? You bet, in ways that make me more and more a believer. The Secret has changed many, many lives I know, because I am thanked over and over again for giving hope through my copy of The Secret.

My copy of The Secret has been read by so many others that it is now falling apart. I have just ordered another one and wish I had more copies to pass on to the many people who come through my door. Even though I have read this book several times, I continue to read it every day it is in my possession. It never ceases to amaze me, and it never bores me. It encourages me constantly.

From The Secret, I have learned that life is truly what you make of it, that what you desire is not only inside of you, but ready to be delivered when you ask, believe, and know you will receive.
