For many years, I had been terribly attached to “making” things happen, and being sure they occurred in precisely the way in which I planned. It has taken a long time to become flexible, and to get out of my own and God’s/the Universe’s way in the manifestation of my desires.

After being introduced to the Unity church, and much later, to The Secret, I began to slowly, sometimes painfully so, learn how to hold a vision. Yet at the same time, let go of the “how” or even when, as long as a deadline was not truly important, it would happen. What follows is a story of a series of intertwined, synchronistic and somewhat simultaneous events that illustrate what I just mentioned:

Some years ago, I was attracted to the world of music, mostly the “business” end, and only to a lesser degree, actually learning to play an instrument. I am convinced the Universe nudged me. The former I learned as I “paid my dues,” on the fly and sometimes with a bit of mentorship. Along those lines, the guitar held a special place in my heart, and learning to play with a slide was something I actually felt, and visioned. Without even realizing it at the time, I was using the law of attraction to bring my teacher to me, and the skill to actually be able to play this particular style. While I have not become a master, I can do OK, and still love it.

Within this time frame, as well, I was also drawn to flamenco. It seemed to be “the blues music” of dance, and I was so mesmerized by the beauty and passion, that I simply had to get involved.

Much as in music, I later began taking lessons, sporadically at first and subsequently started doing a bit of promotion work. After experiencing frustration due to some organizational and other challenges my particular “school” was having, I realized I had sat dormant, without any lessons, for almost a year. I had been feeling a pull towards the “other” teacher, but was afraid of her traditional, “old-school” and sometimes demanding methods.

Finally, the universe nudged me hard enough to cause me to make the jump. Not only did that prove to be just what I needed, I also gained two friends in the process: my teacher, Diana and her husband, Paul, who plays guitar for us in class. Go figure!

Meanwhile, I had discovered the story of the Luna Guitar company, founded by, and still run by a woman, and originally catering to women. Although born a male, I feel a strong feminine spirit inside me, and I greatly desired a guitar from this company. At the time, I could not afford one. I simply wrote it down, and revisited my desire from time to time.

I was beginning to feel a pull which I initially resisted, towards playing a very basic form of flamenco guitar (just the rhythm), and hesitantly approached Paul about perhaps getting me started.

After I informed him about the guitars I currently own, he said I would have to purchase a nylon string classical guitar, as the steel-string resonator and electric I have would never do. Deciding on an online search(to broaden affordability possibilities and choices, I found several models, described them to Paul, and he was not very enthusiastic about the particular instruments as they apply to flamenco guitar.

So, I tried again, this time, having found, to my delight and surprise, a Luna classical nylon string guitar I could afford! It was used, came from a guitar store out of state and had to be shipped, but beautifully designed. I even contacted the owner of the guitar company to tell her about getting this guitar and how pleased I was to have it.

I know the story is a bit long. The lessons have yet to commence (they will very soon). The instrument needs a bit of repair on it’s electronics but it is very playable in the acoustic mode, with a nice, rich tone. Still, this has shown me that even when one is not thinking about it, the law of attraction is working, especially when one just gets out of one’s own way. And, things have an interesting way of happening simultaneously, as well.
