Blairsville, Ga.I'm a 15 year old girl from a really small town. I am interested in succeeding in school and I have many dear friends.
I am a 15 year old girl, and I’ve been through a lot for my age. I went through so many stages, and I have grown from everything I’ve done. My parents are extremely strict, and they have extreme rules against dating.
One day my older sister invited her best friend over to swim with us. His name is David. He’s really tall and he’s one of the sweetest people you could ever meet. We hit it off instantly, which was rare for both of us. He is 17 and he has never had a girlfriend. We were both extremely excited that we had such a great connection right off the bat. Well, he went home and we went a month without seeing each other, but we texted each other every day, almost all day long. Then we had a pool party for my sister’s boyfriend and David was invited. We were so happy! My parents had then noticed that we were hanging around each other a lot and they wanted to nip it in the bud. So to my devastation, they said David and I weren’t allowed to see each other anymore because “he’s too old for you…” David and I were both crushed.
I am more of a positive person and he is more negative, and I had read The Secret a few months prior, so I assured him everything would work out for us in the end. I kept telling him things I had read in the book and I told him he couldn’t attract negativity to us or he’d ruin everything.
Well, about 2 months later, after much frustration, my parents randomly decided he could come over for dinner. Needless to say, we were shocked!
Well, long story short… We’ve been together for about 6 months now. 🙂 I wholeheartedly believe my trust in The Secret had a huge part in what has happened with us. I am so thankful I read this book. Thank you!
