I’m married, have 3 dogs and 2 adopted kids. I’ve always believed in God but had drifted a bit. I let my problems overwhelm me. Financially it’s a struggle because I’m the only one working as my husband is sick. I’m now praying for a miracle. Since reading The Secret I’m learning to be more kind and patient and I’m thinking more positively. I still have a long way to go. I listen to Rhonda Byrne a lot and other teachers of The Secret. They have inspired me to believe in myself!!!
I was in a very low place in my life. I am a very spiritual person and believe that God will always come through for me. For some reason I was unhappy. I was at a job I didn’t like. I was always tired, miserable, and sad. I felt unappreciated. I couldn’t make time to clean my house. My husband has stage 5 renal failure and I needed time off to help him but the time I needed to do other things was impossible to find. That was because I had to work, and on my days off I had to take him and my kids to doctor’s appointments. My house was so full of clutter. I felt no matter how I tried to do stuff, it never got completed. I thought to myself that if I can only get on month off, I then I could get my house in order and ready before my husband starts dialysis.
I started listening to motivational speakers on YouTube to boost my spirits and stumbled upon Steve Harvey who mentioned The Secret. I started writing down things I want to happen. One particular thing I wanted was to have the month of December off. It was impossible, seeing that I was a new hire and all the other team members had already put in for vacation and had priority over me. So I wrote down the exact dates I wanted off. I also wrote down how I wanted to get paid because I had previously purchased vacation time and if I did not use it up before the year ended, I was going to lose it. I prayed over it, I read what I wrote every day and thought about nothing but what I wanted. It was a bit of a fight because I had to come up with a valid reason for wanting the time off I requested. After filing an FMLA and explaining my husband’s health situation and doctor’s appointments etc., I finally got approved! I even got half the month of January off as well! It was even more than I needed but I will take it!
Thank you, Rhonda Byrne.
