Your Word Becomes Your World!
Firstly, I would like to thank Rhonda Byrne and everyone in The Secret community for sharing this amazing gift that we have been given. I first read “The Secret” book about 3 years ago but never really followed it. It was just in the past 6 months that I had started applying it and life has not been the same.
I moved to the United States to get my Master’s degree. A new country, new people, and a very intensive course were all very overwhelming for me. Being a very negative person, I kept telling myself that I am not good enough and I will not be able to get the degree. The Universe heard me and my word became my world. I found every assignment difficult. I found it very hard to grasp what was being taught, and my whole life seemed like a mess. I started to regret spending such a huge amount of money for my Master’s degree and I just felt like going back home and living with my parents.
This was when I felt something had to change, and a post on social media reminded me of The Secret. I took a day off, watched “The Secret” movie, got the book “How The Secret Changed My Life” and read it. The book was very inspirational, and I learned something new from every story. I understood that to change my life, I need to change my thoughts.
I started telling myself that I am smart, that the course is very easy, and I will graduate and get the degree. Every day, in the morning, I used to wake up, look at myself in the mirror and tell myself that I am a genius. I would not stop telling myself this until I truly believed that I was a genius before my day began. I started writing down how I would feel if I understood everything that was being taught and if my assignments were easy. Before every exam, I used to write on scratch paper, “I did very well in the exam!”. Every 5 or 10 minutes during an exam, I read this line, reminding me that my exam would go very well.
As my thoughts changed, so did my life. I started to understand everything that the professor used to teach, the assignments started getting simpler and my grades started to jump higher and higher. By the end of the semester, I had a perfect GPA of 4/4 and was also offered a teaching assistant position for the next semester. These achievements were something that I never could have imagined at the beginning of the semester. This was a miracle all thanks to The Secret.
Initially, it was difficult to change my thoughts from negative to positive, but it got easier and easier to do as the days passed. The toughest part was not convincing the world that I was a genius but convincing myself that I was. Once I was able to convince myself, the world followed.
I truly believe that our word becomes our world, and it is never too late to change our word. You can be anything that you want, all you have to do is believe that you can.
The Secret has turned my life around, and no amount of words can express how grateful I am for this gift. I would again like to thank Rhonda Byrne and the team for giving me this gift and the opportunity to share my story and be a part of this amazing community. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
