When you ask from the heart

I have always been one to say, “If you ask and truly believe in the universe, it will answer you.” That is why I was so happy when the book The Secret came out.
Here is one example. In 2004 after having lost my mother after 7 years of illness, I needed to move away from where I lived. I just knew deep down that I had to shake up my life and start new. Having been her caretaker for all of those years, I needed to do something drastic to put myself back together again. I decided that I wanted to move to the other side of the country, leaving the East for the West, but never having been there or knowing anyone out there, I didn’t know if it was a good thing to do, and I did not have the finances to get me to travel the country to see where exactly I would like to move to.
I started asking the universe: I want to see the country and all its major cities and I want to do it for under 400$ (I can see many of you people laughing all ready). It became a mantra for me.
A week later a friend of mine invited me to a x-mas dinner. There I met one of her friend’s who was in the army located out West, and she was moving back East and needed another driver with her to do the trip. She was ready to pay for the week’s trip as long as I payed for my airplane fare to get all the way out there. I was quick to say yes!
I immediately started asking the universe for my airplane ticket fare. I did not want to spend more then $179 for it, taxes included. Two days later I get an advertising e-mail from an airline company, announcing tickets for $179 taxes included. I fell off my chair, laughing and crying at the same time. I kept thinking, the universe really works… asking and believing in it really works.
I saw this as a blessing for me to go ahead and move. It was one of the best things I ever did for myself. It gave me time to grieve and start fresh a new life for myself.
I truly feel sorry for those who do not “believe”… they are missing out on so much. It is so simple.
