What I found out, 18 years later…

I was born with no ear-shells. I might not have the right medical term, English is not my native, it is the part of the ear that you can see. And normally, I had hearing problems and they told my parents I might never hear or talk, and that I was deaf.
As time was passing by, they actually realized that I have some hearing left and even though we lived in a poor country, one without many possibilities for health issues, they made it their mission to help me hear normally. At the age of seven, I started undergoing surgeries that, thanks to my parents attitude, I remember as a fun experience and I had no trauma at all. Before that, I could hear, but with problems and all the sound devices had to be on high volume. The hearing aids I had to wear were a bit more complicated than others and I had to undergo more surgeries, but 2 years later, I found myself hearing perfectly normally, and 4 years later I had ear-shells. The whole point of this story was to tell you people which was the FIRST song ever that I heard with my normal hearing:

Do pay attention on the lyrics 🙂
This is a song from a cartoon I loved back then and I still adore.
Back then I only thought that it’s all getting better because there is no other way that things can unfold. Now I know what that thing actually was 🙂
I grew up not being different than other children, and even today, when I tell people that I am actually hearing impaired technically, they have a problem believing it 🙂
I am so grateful for this.
Love,
J
