The housing market in Miami is pretty bad. I was renting a condo from a private owner. The day before Thanksgiving she came and told me that I would have 30 days to move because she was no longer making the mortgage payments and she was just going to let the bank take the condo. I was beside myself – I had to try and find a place that accepted three dogs, and that I could afford.

Well, I found a townhouse, but with all the moving expenses I found myself falling behind on my bills – especially my card payment. I fell three months behind. The bank sent me a letter advising me that they were willing to help me but I would need to contact them. The next day I contacted them and explained my situation. After I hung up the phone I started saying to myself, thank you for lowering my payments and making my next payment due April 15th, that would give me time to catch up on my other bills.
