Visualize To Materialize.
Submitted by: Neil Pearce
United KingdomI am a web and graphic designer, who has been working for myself for the last three years. I'm also a football (soccer) coach on the weekends.
Three years ago I was working in a job that I really hated.
Even though it was in my chosen industry, web design, and the pay was better than my last job, I felt really uncomfortable with the people I was working with and the jobs I was getting.
One day at work during lunch time I was surfing the web and I came across a promotional video of The Secret.
After watching it I was instantly intrigued to know more. So I purchased the full video and watched it when I got home. I loved every minute of it and instantly got excited by the prospects.
The main thing I got out of watching The Secret was to visualize what ever you wanted and to really feel as though you have what it is you’re visualizing.
I’ve always wanted to work for myself, but never had the grit to go it alone. However I would sit down every evening and visualize me talking to another me in the future. This future me would be a successful business owner, drive a black Audi A4 and wear nice clothes.
Exactly four months after watching The Secret, I left my job to start my own web design company. I just knew this was the right thing to do.
The first year was hard and I didn’t do much visualizing, but I did, as I still do, say thank you for what I have, every single morning.
After my first year at around the 14th month mark, I won a very big contract to work within the education industry, teaching web and graphic design online.
Six months after that I bought a black Audi A4. I knew I wanted one, and I had actually forgotten all about my visualizing.
When I remembered, I shivered all over and quickly watched The Secret all over again.
At present my freelancing career is growing bigger and stronger and I’m convinced The Secret helped.
The moto I often use and practice all the time now, is to “Visualize to Materialize” and to adopt “The attitude for Gratitude”.
