Pakistan KarachiA 17 year old looking forward to a marvelous life.
I am a 17 year old girl with big dreams. I had never really asked for what I wanted as I have big dreams and even very small wishes that I used to think will never come true! I had been in the same school since kindergarten till 7th grade. I loved my school, my life, and my friends, I got top grades every time, and I was a happy child…
Until in 8th grade we had to shift away from my school and I was made to go to a girls school nearby my parents. I saw pretty girls, their extreme confidence and how popular they were… I felt fine until I started to realize that I had none of those qualities, and cant ever have them. Depression and anger surrounded my life and my grades declined to an F in mathematics! My favorite subject!! I cried my head off, until my father hugged me and assured me that I was the most beautiful and smart girl ever. That felt like a life boat to a drowning person in mid-ocean.
I felt confident and focused on his words! And you know what I got – 88% overall in my finals! And I was flattered! I then wanted to get out of that school, into a better one, and I did! The very next year I was in the best school of my area!!
This story is four years ago. I am now in high school doing my CIE a’levels, and bought the book “The Secret” about two weeks ago (just because I could not resist the urge to spend my leftover pocket money on something randomly), and after reading this book, this story of me focusing and happiness and positivity came first in my mind. Now for my next big achievement – I have made a result certificate with A* s on it and I look at the printout every day!
I know I will achieve this soon. 🙂
