Transition To Be An Entrepreneur
Submitted by: Dayal Singh Duggal
New Delhi IndiaAn Engineer by profession. After working for 40 years in two major transnational corporations I founded my own company in 2009, where I am still working full-time.
I had a dream to be an entrepreneur since my childhood. However, I could never take a risk of quitting my well paying professional career to start my own business activity.
My last assignment until 2008 was as a Country Director in a major European corporation based in India. I had enjoyed a wonderful career of 25 + years here and had contributed a lot to their business growth in the assigned territory. The company had also looked after me very well. However, the management moved me from my independent office to the corporate office in 2006. On top of that they offered me a new contract with several unacceptable terms. This led me to look for an alternate job.
My childhood dream started pushing me towards creating my own enterprise. This time as I had read The Secret, I started visualizing in great detail my own small company. I started looking for office space asking several friends to suggest names. In parallel I was looking for a job and negotiations started for a job with another multinational corporation.
My focus on starting my own company never changed and even after the job offer was nearly finalized and accepted, there came a pleasant surprise. I had resigned to accept the new job but still hoping and was visualizing strongly for my own business. I did know how it would materialize but I was sure that it would.
The company that was negotiating with me could not get permission from their top management to open an office in India as it was during crisis time in late 2008. They came to me with an offer of representing them in India by opening a small company of mine and even helped me with the initial set up expenses.
This was certainly the result of teachings from The Secret.
On Jan 1, 2009 my small company was registered and I am doing great thanks The Secret!
