My whole life I’ve really liked Japanese anime and manga. You could classify that as geeky or nerdy but it’s helped me through hard times and brought me a grand amount of joy.

I have a favorite manga series entitled “Fruits Basket”. The series was something so meaningful to me I plan on my next tattoo being dedicated to it. It’s characters and story and everything about it just really mean the world to me.

The problem is, while I’ve read it a few times through, this 23 book long series is out of print so every time I read it I had to get the books from the library.

Yesterday I was sitting in my living room looking at the two books from the series I own, 1 and 4. I decided in the next five days I want to get 2 and 3. Now I don’t currently have a job, or a means to obtain them.

But it was that evening I got a call from my best friend. She knows about my love of the books and when I answered the phone she asked which ones in the series I owned. This was out of no where. Completely random. I informed her confused about the question and she said, “Well I am at a used bookstore and I found 2 and 3 really cheap, so I am buying them for you.”

I was and am so grateful the books are in great condition and I am that much closer to owning my favorite book series.
