Three Simple, Yet Powerful Words

San Diego, CAI'm a 22 year old man who loves and supports his mother in the absence of her husband.
Six months ago, my father was badly hurt. He was sent away to the hospital, where he is still. (But he is recovering amazingly well.) Since that event, my mother and I spent most of the time together. She and I did not get along very well towards the beginning, and we fought on many occasions. The fighting, the bickering, and the disagreement continued, and to make matters even worse, it escalated over a period of a few months.
But then, I read something in “The Power” about how the exchange of love improves relationships. So one evening, I suggested to my mother that for the rest of my father’s recovery period, she and I not go a single day without saying “I Love You” to one another. Not long after we began this new habit of ours, we started to become more loving towards each other, and our relationship skyrocketed to new heights. Even my father can’t help smiling when he sees the two of us together in his presence.
And we lived happily ever after…
