The World Works In Mysterious Ways.

United KingdomMy family comes from humble beginnings. My parents separated when I was just two years old so I was raised by a single mother, and yet, except for my father, I never felt that I missed anything in life. My mother had a difficult upbringing. She didn't have anyone to encourage or support her so she made sure she would do that for my brother and I. I am who I am because of her. I am a 24 year old young woman who wants to be the same light for others that my mother was for me.
I am sharing this story for those who have been told they are not capable of doing something or that they are not good enough.
I was fortunate enough to have been raised in a family where I was constantly told and reminded that I could achieve anything I put my mind to. I have always appreciated my education. I love learning. However, the grades I received in secondary school did not reflect how hard I had worked and I was devastated. I was worried about whether I would be able to get into college at all.
Enrollment day at college came and I was told that as I did not receive the grades required, I would have to take a level 2 course before I could move on to my A levels.
In the first year of college, our class was told to arrange a meeting with the college’s career advisor. When I went to my meeting, I told her that I wanted to study law and work in the legal profession. I was told to “pick a more realistic career path” and that “It’s a very demanding industry” followed by “with your GCSE results it’s unlikely you will make it.”
I walked out of that room frustrated. Frustrated that someone who I thought was supposed to support and encourage us to achieve our goals, told me I couldn’t do it.
I completed that course with top marks (distinction) and was then able to study A levels. We were told to return to the career advisor and I wondered whether my grades would have changed her mind but they had not.
I went on to achieve A*A*A*A* and I was offered a legal apprenticeship with a UK leading law firm.
I had faith in myself. I focused on what I wanted and it became a reality. I was practicing the law of attraction before I was even aware of The Secret. Since then, I have manifested almost everything I have dreamed of, traveling the world, becoming a homeowner, starting a degree, and being offered a job back at a firm I previously worked for.
I am so grateful to Rhonda for her documentary, for all the books that have followed, and for allowing us to share our beautiful stories here. I hope that if you’re reading this, you will believe in yourself because you really can achieve anything you put your mind to.
