iPad As An Early Christmas Gift
Submitted by: Milissa
New JerseyI am a 40 year old social worker. I am married, have two boys, ages 3 and 4, and have 2 girl dogs to round out our family.
I recently listened to The Power on audiobook. I started visualizing the kind of future I wanted and had some success, but also knew that I was struggling with being specific enough.
One day I had the opportunity to focus on attracting one specific gift.
My kids had broken our iPad a few months back. Money was too tight to buy a new one and we were looking into an affordable tablet for Christmas. There was little in our price range that could meet our needs.
Three weeks before Christmas, I attended a work-related conference where all attendees where eligible for raffle prizes, should they remain for the duration of the conference. Grand prize was an iPad mini.
Anyone wishing to be considered for the raffle was asked to submit their business card. I had forgotten my card, but they allowed me to submit my name on an index card.
I pictured the raffle throughout the day and imagined myself winning. I imagined hearing my name called, the look of excitement on my face, walking up to the podium and accepting the iPad. I thought about how the box would feel in my hands. I thought about the gracious smile I would give as I thanked the host and the excited smile I would give my colleagues as I returned to the table with my prize. I pictured this over and over again throughout the day.
When the time came to draw my name, I was confident that it would be me.
And it was me!
And it was exactly how I pictured it!
Rhonda, thank you for sharing this amazing gift with so many! I type this from my new iPad mini!
