I was recently introduced to The Secret by a friend, and have been applying its concepts for a couple months now, and I have since introduced it to a friend. This is our story.

We are believers.

We actually put it to the test just a couple weeks ago. We were on our way to a girls’ weekend, and were listening to The Secret CD and discussing it at length, just the two of us, in the car. We came to the end of one of the CDs and we agreed that we would test it to see if it ACTUALLY works. We weren’t firm believers yet. So Jessica decided that she would ‘attract’ a certain rock, a special rock, with a distinctive shape – a heart. But it wouldn’t be a perfect heart, it would be slightly misshapen. And I decided that I would ‘attract’ a certain piece of driftwood – in the shape of an animal.

Now we understood that you have to visualize it, see it, and BELIEVE it, and not consciously LOOK for it, but put yourself in the right place to be able to receive it, in order for it to work. The Law of Attraction states that it has to come to you on its own. So, we visualized it, we believed it, and we could SEE ourselves finding these things. And went to our girls’ weekend.

We kept the test to ourselves, as the other girls were unfamiliar with The Secret concepts. Then we thought about it off and on to ourselves throughout the weekend, but nothing happened. Until we were on the beach, half way through the weekend, and were walking back across the sand, when Jessica ‘happened’ to look down and saw a rock. She picked it up…and brought it over to me and asked, ‘What is this?’ looking completely astonished. I looked and saw that it was a rock in the shape of a heart!! Now, you have to understand that we completely overreacted, and jumped up and down (like girls tend to do when excited!) and had to explain why to the other girls…but they were very receptive to the concepts, and encouraged us. She had found her rock!

I didn’t find my piece of driftwood while we were on our girls’ weekend. But on the drive home I just ‘happened’ to glance out the window…and there it was. A piece of driftwood shaped like a donkey! In someone’s yard, with flowers around it, so they obviously saw the donkey too. And I screamed at Jessica, ‘There it is! A donkey!’…and we freaked out again. We had done it! We had consciously attracted something to our lives by thinking it and believing it! I didn’t get to keep my donkey, but Jessica uses her rock as her ‘gratitude rock’.

We create our destiny. Our thoughts actually DO become things. We discovered that we CAN have whatever we wish for! We tested it, we proved it. We BELIEVE. And I don’t think either of us will ever forget that feeling…that feeling of accomplishment…that feeling of amazement…that feeling of utter happiness…it’s like finding out that fairytales REALLY do come true. Because they will for us. We just have to order it from the catalogue of the universe.
