While playing a round of golf one day, a group of 4 of us were walking down the path after we hit our tee shots. I looked over at my friends house and saw his spiral stair case connected to his deck and said to a friend “There, now that is what I need at the lake, a spiral staircase that I can tuck away to the side so the view to the lake isn’t obstructed”.

Thinking for sure that is what I have to have, I just happened to be playing with the owner of the home 2 weeks later. We hit our shots off the tee box and we stopped by his house – from there he told me of a renovation he and his wife were planning and that the deck, rail and stairs had to be replaced because they were adding a room off their kitchen and the new dogs can’t go up and down the stairs. He made mention to them without me even bringing it up!

I asked what would become of the stairs and railing? He told me that they had to be junked . I said startled, may I have them? He said absolutely, if you can get them off the yard when the builder takes them down!!

So inside of TWO weeks of seeing and wanting something, not only did I get it, I got the exact same staircase I looked at!!

It now sits beautifully against my new deck and people love the look of it!

I sent my friend a large box of very nice wines for his ‘donation’ to my new deck since he didn’t want any money for it!
