This is one of the most special manifestations of my life when I didn’t even know that The Secret was with me all along.

Since the time I was in primary school, a part of me always knew I was meant for the fashion and design world. Coming from a background where education was only justified if you were an engineer, a doctor, a CA, a teacher, or a government official, going for a totally contrasting field was a big no from the family and society. But I decided to change my path anyway because that was what would lead me to my dreams.

Back in 8th grade, I opened up to my parents about how I wanted to study fashion and become a designer. They were very skeptical about it, so my parents didn’t support it. I know it was gonna be a heck of a journey to explain to them why it was important for me but I knew there was nothing that could shake my faith in myself and my dreams. You know there can be a lot of differences in the way of thinking for two different generations, my case was no different. I researched and researched about the field I wanted to get into, I talked to people who had experience in the field and that’s when I came to know about the National Institute of Fashion Technology run by the government of India. That was it for me! I knew I wanted a seat in that college right after high school was over. It took me exactly two years to convince my parents, to assure them that what I was choosing was going to be the right decision for me.

In grade 10, after my boards were over, I had to pick a stream for the next two years for my schooling, and that went well with the support of my parents. Yes! They were convinced! And once they were convinced, there was no turning back! You see, unwavering faith in yourself and positive thoughts can lead you to your goals and dreams.

I used to visualize myself in the fashion industry, polishing my creativity each day, working with the bigshots of the industry. This was just stage 1.
Stage 2 was the entrance exam for the college I wanted to get into. That year, the entrance exams were very difficult compared to other years, and surprisingly, when I left the exam hall, I knew it was the next stage I had to get ready for. Guess what? I cleared Stage 2!

You know, I would always imagine myself sitting in one of those classrooms of my dream college, creating new things every day. I would visualize myself in the hostel room of my college. I would visualize staying away from my family to make a career. I would visualize myself enjoying my career. Visualization helped so much to believe in what was yet to happen.

Now comes stage 3. Another exam for the final listing and the finalists who would actually get into the college. In the meantime, I still had a college for my backup and I had to go for an interview, just in case. I went for the interview, answered each and every question and the last question was a game changer for me. They asked, “Why do you want to study with us?” And to that, my reply was “I am waiting for my results from NIFT, and that is the college of my dreams.” I know, that is not how someone answers in an interview but it was the truth for me. Are you excited about the next part?

The very next day my results were out and guess what? Yes, yes! I grabbed a position in my dream college and that was not the only thing. The cherry on the cake was my letter of acceptance with all the required forms for admission from the backup college as well!

Years later in 2019, I came across The Secret. That was when I realized that I had it all within me. I had The Secret all along but had not discovered it until then.

Now, this is the part where I want to thank the team of The Secret, Ms. Rhonda for helping literally each and every person in the world with your teachings. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you because if it was not for you, people wouldn’t have had a chance to take a step, build confidence and believe in themselves. People have The Secret within them and Ms. Rhonda helped them discover this power within them. That is exactly why I always say that positivity is a way of living. And through The Secret, I realized that “Your thoughts become things.”
