I got The Secret passed to me by a friend. I heard this person talking about it all the time, and I wanted to get the book but at that time I couldn’t get it… I wasn’t working.

My best friend Adriana and I went to get some things that she needed and I was telling her about the book and how much I wanted to read it, so she told me let’s look for it, I’ll buy it, you read it and then you pass it down to me, OK? I was so happy and exited. I read it, it brought me so much peace and joy that I told my ex boyfriend about it and he was like yeah, yeah… He didn’t pay much attention to me. I told him, you know you should read it too. Sometimes he is very pessimistic about us, or let’s say me in fact. A couple of weeks pass by and I bought the book for him and told him read it, it will make you understand a lot of things, that I haven’t been able to.

One day we got into a big argument because of the book. He was telling me that I was living on a dream so I told him that at least I was at peace and happy with what I got from it. The next day he calls me and he says I’m reading the book. And I didn’t pay much attention because he had said that before and he been lying, so I went to drop off our son in his house and he started telling me all the good things about the book; I was very surprised that for once in his lifetime he was telling me the truth and doing something that I suggested. He has changed a lot on the way he thinks, the way he lives his life, and I’m very happy that we have something to talk about, something special that we enjoy and share. He is not talking or acting negative anymore, he is happy, and I can’t get him to stop talking about the book anymore and that makes me happy.
