Several weeks ago I went back to TAFE (Technical & Further Education) to study the remaining units of Certificate 2 in Conservation and Land Management, which were missing on my Conservation Volunteers Australia Certificate 2 of the same course I took in 2003.

At first it seemed pretty straight forward – complete my Soils Unit then move on to the next units before graduating with a full Certificate 2 in Conservation and Land Management. But my hearing aid went dud 2 times in a row at both classes, making it hard to hear the lecturer and thus missing out what he was saying.

Despite all the studying I did before my written exam, on a Saturday morning my mind just froze up as if all the good luck had flown out the window before my very eyes, leaving me to struggle and having to postpone doing the soils exam for another time.

Then the very next week on a Friday I noticed The Secret Gratitude Book sitting on the shelf in a bookstore close to the centre court of the local shopping plaza… Knowing this book combined with The Secret, which I got late last year, I thought it would drag the law of attraction to me and make good things happen.

Before going to bed I looked through the Gratitude Book. I saw that what I want in life had to be written in a way which would bring good luck to me. Knowing what I wanted most, I started to write it down, starting with the words, “I am truly grateful for,” followed by, giving me a chance to redo my soils unit test.

A week later I got a phone call from my lecturer asking for me to come in and do the rest of my exam one-on-one orally, so I could be given a passing grade of the Soils Unit. Leading up to the days prior to my exam I again wrote in my gratitude book, “I am truly for being able to pass my soils oral exam on the 17/07/2008.”

On the day of my exam I felt real confident, knowing the law of attraction was starting to work its magic on me. I went into the examination room and answered all the questions to the best of my ability. About 5 minutes later my examiner came back into the room after speaking to my lecturer and said they decided to give me a pass on the exam.

This was all thanks to the law of attraction and my trusty Gratitude Book. Now I am only 6 weeks and 2 units away from graduating.
